WebSite X5 Evo, Pro and Agency, from v.2025.3

Beta Service

Once the generation is complete, MagicSite provides you with a fully ready website tailored to your needs: in just a few minutes, you’ll have a project with structure, texts, images, and a predefined graphic template.

At the end of the process, a screen appears allowing you to choose whether to:

  • open the website preview in the local browser to immediately see the result;
  • open the project in the classic WebSite X5 editor to start customizing it right away.

Once the project is open, you will have all WebSite X5 tools available to edit, enhance, and refine it, just as if it had been created from a traditional template.

Let’s see how to customize the main elements of the website generated by MagicSite:

Explore the generated project

Once opened in WebSite X5, you can start exploring the project generated by MagicSite to understand how it was built and, if necessary, where and how to make changes. You can proceed in two different ways, which are not alternatives but rather complementary:

  • Explore the project in WebSite X5 by navigating through the various Steps and windows of the program to see everything that has been set up.
  • Browse the local preview to get an immediate view of the ready website and identify the areas that need adjustments.

Remember that when using the local preview, you have two commands available to help you work faster:

  • Edit this page: takes you directly back to the WebSite X5 workspace, in the Page Creation window, with the previewed page ready to be edited. If you are viewing a Blog, Reserved Area, or E-commerce Cart page, you will be redirected to the corresponding section of Step 1.
  • Edit this object: activates the editing mode: the Objects are highlighted when you hover over them, and by clicking on one, you are automatically taken back to the workspace in the Object settings window. If you click on the Header, Footer, or Sidebar, you are taken directly to the Template Content window.
#tip - You can also activate editing mode with the keyboard shortcut CTRL + SHIFT. For more details, see The project preview in WebSite X5.

Customize template and graphic style

The template proposed by MagicSite is generated based on the topic, the type of website, and the style you chose from those suggested during creation. It includes a color palette, fonts, typographic settings, and text styles, offering you a project with a well-defined and consistent graphic identity.

Of course, you can modify these settings at any time and customize the website’s appearance to best match your identity.

To edit the template:

  • Go to Step 2 - Template Settings.
  • To work on the page layout, click Template Structure and edit the various sections of the page to adjust graphic settings, alignments, and margins.
  • To customize the website’s header and footer, click Template Content: here, for example, you might need to insert your company logo (see How to edit the Header and Footer layout?).

To edit the styles:

  • Still in Step 2 - Template Settings, click Text, Field and Button Style.
  • Select the Page Element you want to modify and use the available options to adjust it (see How to define and apply a style to website texts?).
  • In addition to working on text styles, Step 2 also provides all the options to modify other graphic settings, such as tooltips, emails, and showbox windows.

Manage the website map

The website map generated by MagicSite is based on the information collected in the chat and on how websites of that type and topic are usually organized: it includes main pages (such as "Home", "About Us", "Services", "Contacts"), possible subpages, and common extra pages, such as "Privacy Policy" or "Terms and Conditions".

This structure is designed to give you a complete and immediately navigable website, but of course, you are free to adapt it to your needs. You can add new pages, remove the ones you don’t need, or change the order of the menu items.

To work on the website structure:

  • Go to Step 3 - Map.
  • Add levels and/or pages using the New Level and New Page buttons.
  • Delete levels and/or pages you don’t need by selecting them and clicking Delete.
  • Drag the pages to change their order or move them under a main section.
  • Rename the pages to make the navigation menu even clearer.

#tip - The map proposed by MagicSite is an excellent starting point, but don’t feel constrained: find more information in How to create the website map?

Customize page layout and content

To generate the website pages, MagicSite draws from the library of predefined Objects in WebSite X5 and a selection of optional Objects, allowing it to create complete and balanced layouts. Each page is prepared with a combination of Objects (for example, Text Object, Image Object, Gallery, Accordion Text, Portfolio, and many others) already arranged within the layout grid.

Specifically, regarding Optional Objects, MagicSite can use the following:

  • Free Optional Objects: these are used without limitations. If they are not yet installed in the program, they are automatically downloaded and installed during the project generation.
  • Paid Optional Objects: these are used only if they have already been purchased by the user. Otherwise, MagicSite sets up the page with alternative Objects.

In general, you can modify, replace, or delete any Object inserted by MagicSite, as well as adjust its placement within the layout grid and the style settings defined for the cells or rows.

#tip - Learn how to customize and make your pages even more engaging by working on the Object style (see How to create a background box for an Object?) and/or on the row style (see How to work on the layout grid rows?).

Edit the texts

The texts generated by MagicSite are never random: they are created based on the information you provided during the chat and, when available, on the content already published online that you shared. They also take into account the tone of voice defined by the chosen style (professional, informal, creative, etc.), to ensure consistency with your project’s identity.

In addition, the knowledge applied by the AI about the topic, what is normally written on a web page, and the SEO best practices help generate texts that are not only relevant but also effective for communication and search engine ranking.

Naturally, these texts are just a starting point: you can rewrite, shorten, or enrich them at any time.

  • Open the page you want to edit.
  • In the layout grid, find the Object containing the textual content (it can be a Text Object, a Title Object, an Accordion Text Object, or another one).
  • Double-click the Object to access the editor.
  • Add, correct, or delete the text as needed.

#tip - To edit, regenerate, or translate texts, you can once again rely on artificial intelligence by using MagicText.

Replace images

The images inserted by MagicSite are automatically selected from the integrated WebSite X5 libraries, based on the information collected during the chat and the style you selected.

Some are Free Images, immediately available for use, while others are Premium Images, which require payment.

In the case of Premium Images, the generated project includes drafts that you can recognize by the presence of a watermark. If you want to use one or more of these images, you will need to purchase them: in Step 5 - Export you will find a box reminding you whether and how many Premium Images are present in your project and giving you the option to proceed with the purchase.

#tip - To purchase Premium Images, you need Credits. For more information, see What are Premium Images and how to use them?

Of course, you are free to replace the images—both free and premium—at any time with others that are more relevant to your project, either from the integrated libraries or by uploading them from your computer:

  • Open the page you want to edit.
  • In the layout grid, locate the Object related to the image. It may be an Image Object, a Gallery Object, a Portfolio Object, or another one: in fact, many Objects allow the use of images.
  • Double-click the Object to access the editor.
  • In the settings window, you will find all the options needed to replace the image and manage all related properties.
  • Usually, MagicSite adds an Alternative Text to the images you insert: click the  icon and check that the existing ALT text is still suitable for the new image you have added.
#tip - The alternative text generated by MagicSite not only describes the image but also suggests its intended purpose: this can help you choose a consistent replacement.
