WebSite X5 Pro from v2025.1

If your goal is to create an accessible website, during the development of your pages, you will have taken care to make targeted choices and structure your content in accordance with best accessibility practices. However, before putting everything online, it is always a good idea to perform a final check to verify the level of accessibility achieved and identify any areas for improvement.

Thanks to the accessibility analysis function integrated into WebSite X5, you can perform a check of your project and obtain a list of errors and warnings. This tool helps you understand if there are elements that could compromise the accessibility of the site and assists you in identifying and modifying them for optimization.

How to Start the Website Analysis

To perform the website analysis, follow these steps:

  • After saving the project at least once, go to Step 5 - Export and click on Optimize the Project.
  • The site analysis is performed, and the results are displayed directly in the Project Optimization window that opens.

As you can see, the window has two sections. The upper section summarizes key site data, including, for example, site size, number of pages, number of e-commerce products, and the size of resources linked to the project.

In the lower section, two tables display the following:

  • A list of only those site elements where an issue has been detected.
  • A list of Errors, Alerts, and Information related to the element selected in the previous table. Keep in mind that:
    • Errors may compromise the site’s functionality and/or its level of optimization/accessibility. It is highly recommended to correct them before proceeding with the online export. These errors include manually inserted HTML code issues, missing fonts, or links to non-existing elements.
    • Alerts indicate elements where improvements can be made to further optimize the site’s SEO/accessibility. These primarily concern the presence and length of page titles, descriptions, and alternative text for images.
    • Information refers to additional recommendations for potential enhancements, such as the inclusion of sitemap.xml and robots.txt files, page and image sizes, etc.

  • Use the buttons , , and to toggle the display of Errors, Alerts, and Information. You can also use the buttons and  to filter only messages related to SEO optimization and/or page accessibility. Since our focus is currently on improving page accessibility, disable SEO-related messages and enable accessibility-related messages. This will help you more easily identify areas to work on.
  • Remember that by clicking the Save Report button, you can save the site analysis report as an HTML file for archiving or sharing.

How to Fix Any Errors

After running the analysis and reviewing the results, you can decide whether to fix any errors or make further improvements:

  • Go through the list of errors, alerts, and information: for each entry, you will find the related project element, a brief description, and, if available, the location.
  • Select the error/alerts/information you want to work on and click the Edit button (alternatively, you can double-click directly on the description of the notification) to open the window where you can make changes. Once the change is made, click the OK button (or Cancel) to return directly to the Project Optimization window.
  • Once you have made the necessary changes, return to the Project Optimization window and update the analysis results by clicking the Start button again.

After making all necessary changes, you can proceed with publishing your site online.

#tip - The automatic analysis in WebSite X5 is a valuable tool for identifying technical improvements, but it cannot replace a thorough review using online testing tools or a manual check by qualified professionals.

#tip - In addition to the commands needed to identify elements that can help improve SEO optimization or site accessibility, this window also includes options for managing and possibly removing resources that are no longer linked to the project. For more details, see: How do you optimize a project?
