A FAQ page is a page reporting the list of the most frequently asked questions and relative answers about a certain topic.

On an online shop, for example, the FAQ page may answer some questions concerning the purchase, the timing and methods for the shipping of the purchased products as well as provide more information about the refund policy and process.

FAQs are important because they anticipate the visitors' questions providing a clear and transparent communication. Also, as they clear up the most frequent doubts, they also reduce the number of support requests and avoid having to reply the same thing to many different people.

FAQs and structured data

Thanks to the structured data applied to the FAQ page, it is possible to report the contents more clearly on the SERP, so that users will be able to find the answers they're looking for more easily.

Moreover, thanks to the structured data, the answers can be read by the Google Assistant: if the answer for the question the user made is included in one of the FAQs, it will be directly answered by the Google Assistant.

WebSite X5 reports the code of the FAQ Page structured data for the contents added with the Accordion Text & FAQ Optional Object. These are the steps you need to follow:  

  • Go to Step 1 - Website Settings > SEO and activate the Add Structured Data option.
  • Open the settings window for the Accordion Text & FAQ Optional Object you added on the page.
  • In the Contents>SEO section, activate the Activate FAQ Page Structured Data option. This option is available for the Pro edition updated to the version 2020.2 only.
