If you love music, we're sure you know all about Spotify, the famous service to listen to millions of music tracks. What you maybe don't know yet is that you can put Spotify at your visitors' disposal, so they can listen to the music or follow artists while browsing the pages of your website. How to add a Play Button

Thanks to the Play Button, your visitors will be able to listen to the music using the Spotify player:

  • Log in to Spotify.
  • Right-click on the content you want to share on your page: a song, an album, an artist, a playlist, a podcast or an episode.
  • In the context menu, click on Share and then on Copy Song Link or on Copy Spotify URI.
  • Go back to WebSite X5 and double-click on the Spotify Object you added on the page to open the settings window.
  • Choose option 1- Play as Button type.
  • In the Link or Spotify URI field, paste the code you have previously copied.
  • Choose if you want the widget to be displayed as List or Compact and, if necessary, set its size.


#tip - Premium or Free.  The users will need to log in to their Spotify accounts in order to be able to listen to the whole song, otherwise they will be able to listen to a 30-second preview only. The player will automatically show a request to log in or register to the service.


How to add a Follow Button

With the Follow Button, your visitors will be able to add an artist or another user to their own account. 

  • Log in to Spotify.
  • Click on the More button which is available on the artist page.
  • In the context menu, click on Share and then on Copy Song Link or on Copy Spotify URI.
  • Go back to WebSite X5 and double-click on the Spotify Object you added on the page to open the settings window.
  • This time, choose option 2- Follow as Button type.
  • In the Artist Link or Spotify URI field, paste the code you have previously copied.
  • Choose if you want the widget to be displayed as Basic or Detailed and, if necessary, set its size.
  • If you want to, activate the Show follower count option to show the amount of followers the artist has in a tooltip associated to a Follow button.


#tip - Premium or Free. The users who are not registered or logged in to their Spotify accounts will be required to access directly or using Facebook.
