To let customers pay by card in your online store, you can use Stancer, the payment service provider belonging to the Iliad Group and integrated directly into WebSite X5.


To get started, you need to create a Stancer account, complete the service activation process and enter the connection keys in your project.


In this guide, we will cover:


1. How to activate a Stancer account

Before configuring the payment method, you need to register with Stancer and complete the activation process:

  • Go to the Stancer website and start creating an account.
  • Enter the required details and confirm your email address using the link you receive.
  • Complete your registration with information about your business and the required documents.
  • Follow the contract signing process and wait for approval from Stancer.


You can also start the registration process from WebSite X5: in the payment method configuration window, select Stancer by Iliad Group and click the Stancer logo.


#tip - Before activating the service, check the terms, fees and requirements for your business on the Stancer website.


2. Where to find the connection keys

WebSite X5 requires two keys to connect your store to your Stancer account:

  • Public Key, the public key;
  • Private Key, the private key.


The keys are available in the Developers section of your Stancer user area. The service distinguishes between test keys, used to simulate payments, and production keys, required to receive real payments.


Production keys become available once registration is complete and your account has been approved.


#tip - Keep your connection keys secure. In particular, do not share your private key or include it in the content of your website pages.


3. How to configure Stancer in WebSite X5

To add Stancer to your store's payment methods:

  • Go to Step 1 - Settings and open Shopping Cart > Order Management.
  • Click Add in the list of payment methods.
  • On the General tab, set the payment method name and description to display to customers.
  • Open the Type tab and select Pay now.
  • In the Payment Type menu, choose Stancer by Iliad Group.
  • Enter the keys provided by Stancer in the Public Key and Private Key fields.


On the same tab, specify the website pages to display at the end of the payment process:

  • Payment Confirmation: the page to display when payment is successful;
  • Payment Error: the page to display if a payment error occurs.


You can prepare these pages in the website Map, adding a message to help customers understand the outcome of the transaction and how to proceed.


Complete the other payment method settings and click OK to confirm.

4. How to test payments

Before you start receiving real payments, check your configuration using the test environment:

  • Enter your Stancer account's test keys in the Public Key and Private Key fields.
  • Enable Sandbox enabled (Test mode).
  • Confirm your changes and publish the project to a test web space.
  • Place an order, choosing Stancer, and use the test payment details provided in the provider's documentation.
  • Check that the payment works and that the confirmation and error pages are displayed.


Once testing is complete:

  • replace the test keys with production keys;
  • disable Sandbox enabled (Test mode);
  • confirm your changes and publish the updated project.


#tip - The keys you enter must match the environment you are using: test keys for Sandbox testing, production keys for real payments.
