Do you want to let visitors open a collection of images or videos without leaving the Page they are viewing? You can do this by creating a Link that displays a gallery in ShowBox, that is, in the foreground above the Page content.


This solution can be useful, for example, to show multiple images of a product, present photos of a place, or collect multimedia contents related to the same topic.


How to create a link to a gallery in ShowBox

To create the Link:

  • Select the text, image, button, or element you want to use to open the gallery.
  • Click Link to open the corresponding window. 
  • Select the Gallery with ShowBox action.
  • Use the available commands to add and arrange the images and videos that should make up the gallery.
  • For each image, if necessary, complete the accessibility information by clicking the button to open the Accessibility window and indicate whether it is a Decorative Element or specify the Title and Alternative Text. 
  • You can also click the  button to add a description that will be displayed below the image.
  • Set the Size of the ShowBox window.
  • Activate Show thumbnails in ShowBox if you also want to display thumbnails of the gallery contents.
  • Confirm. 


You can use both images and videos saved locally and, where available, resources imported from the available Online Libraries.


#tip - Accessibility. If the images convey useful information, complete the Title and Alternative Text appropriately. If they have a purely graphic function, you can mark them as Decorative Elements. For more information, see How to write alternative text for non-text contents on pages.


How to customize the appearance of the ShowBox

When the visitor opens the gallery, the contents are displayed in the foreground while the Page underneath remains in the background.


You can customize the general appearance of the ShowBox window, for example by adjusting the background, colors, and other graphic elements.
